Due to needs in projects for blind or visually impaired users the Labdoo team Germany invested much time in investigation and setting up new and improved solutions for handicapped users. As times are changing, we should as well update our minimum requirements of donated laptops. Actually we ask for at least Pentium IV (4) CPUs. Linux is well known for supporting older computers, but release by release (L)Ubuntu needs more RAM and CPU power.
So we recommend to drop Pentium 4 CPUs (end of 2001) and use min. Pentium M (mobile) CPUs (2003 ff.). Min. RAM of 512 MB, better 756 MB...

hat jemand von euch schon mal versucht den FTP Server mit einem Programm (z.B. FileZilla) zu nutzen? Ich bekomme damit die folgende Fehlermeldung: Verbindungsversuch fehlgeschlagen mit "ECONNREFUSED - Verbindung durch Server verweigert". Mache ich etwas falsch, oder geht das generell nicht?

Please note that CUPS (Common Uńix Printing System) is not coming with a basic (L)Ubuntu installation. It was part of a basic (L)Ubuntu 14.04 LTS system. Without CUPS you are not able to connect and install a printer :( We are adding CUPS this week to all Labdoo images for cloning (uploading to FTP server will take a while).
