New to Labtix - unable to download images

Hello all,

I am a novice on computers but have been a part of the Labdoo community for some time. I'm trying to use Labtix for the first time. I have created a bootable USB and am able to get to Labtix. However, once there, it's unclear how to proceed. I am following the "Labtix - the Labdoo environment to install donated laptops (English)" video on YouTube.

According to the video, when When I go to SpaceFM, I should have the needed images on an external hard drive. The website directs me to http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/ and says I should right click and choose "save link as". However, when I do this, it only saves a link back to the website? How do I get the images onto an external hard drive to make them accessible in Labtix?

Hi Brandon,
as I understand it - your problem is not linked to Labtix. Your problem seems to be that you are not able to download the prepared images for cloning. Is that right?
In that case please read the suggestions described here https://www.labdoo.org/content/connecting-labdoo-ftp-server. It is your choise, which way fits best for you and the operating system you use. You have to download the image folder you want to clone first, then start Labtix and use it.
Hope this will solve your needs.

Hi Ralf,

I noticed that the current download are folders instead of one compressed gzip file. The suggested sftp for window Swiwh only support up to Windows 7. Is there another suggested directory download method for Windows 10 users?

Ubuntu 14 is the version where the current productive system is running and the only one in which the current installation mechanisms have been tested correctly.

I will update this info un the Github project, since by what i saw is not explicitly mentioned....

Hi Wendy,
did you try Swish on a Windows 10 system? Most program run on Windows 10, even released for Windows 7. If not, please let me know and we start a research for a Windows 10 solution. Or research with your OC-team and add the information to the wiki.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I tried and yes, Swish works on Windows10, although the download speed is extremely slow compared with sftp command on the linux machine:)
