Hi,
I have received a 10" HP Detachable Laptop with touch screen. This machine works with a special double OS, one in the keyboard side with a 500 Gb SSD drive and another one in the screen having a 32 Gb drive. I imagine this is in order to permit to detach the screen from the keyboard, keeping the system alive and working as a tablet.
After a lot of trials, finally, I have installed the...

Hi,
Would it be possible to load the language, local time and keyboard, selected from the Labtix / Antix screen into the Mint installation?
It would simplify a bit the tasks that we have to do to set the configuration.
On the other hand, it would help for the default configuration of the guest user. I've checked and, every time I start a session as guest the configuration is set to...
"Dear Labdoo Team,
I'm a IT student with a passion to empower my community through education. I'm planning to establish a free school in my village, offering courses to children and adults. Upon completion, we'll provide certificates to encourage further learning.
To make this vision a reality, I'm reaching out to request 1 - 2 computers. These devices will be used to provide digital...
Hi,
I wanted to ask the community about two applications that used to be in the previous images and that aren't installed with the Linux Mint (or, maybe, I haven't found them):
There was an application that allowed us to test the internal camera that usually come with the laptops. The same application should permit the students to use it. In the new versions I haven’t found any, so I’m...
Hi,
I want to share with you a problem that I've experienced with an Acer Aspire Laptop that I've been sanitizing. It's not an older computer, quite the contrary. Before sanitizing, I removed the BIOS security and checked that EFI was the booting system.
I first installed Linux Mint using Labtix-3 and the basic EN image. Everything seemed correct but, when booting from the hard drive, I got...
Hi,
I'm preparing several HP computers for a trip to the Gambia. Right now, I've erased and installed Linux Mint (24_04_LTS_EN_BASIC) on two of them. I have experienced the same problem on both of them.
When I boot from the Labtix 3 USB, the computer starts with resolution 1024x768. It's the highest resolution I can get with Arandr. After the installation of the O.S. it is, also, the...
Hi all,
Labtix installer uses "shred" command to securely erase HDDs.
I read that this command is not suitable for SSDs:

Thoughts on that?
Should the overwrite method maybe be changed?

Hi all,
I just tested in Labtix 3.01 to start shredding the disk and then closing the lid. When I open it up after a few minutes, I see it has not progressed in the meantime.
I think Labtix is configured to enter energy saving mode when closing the lid.
Does anyone know how to change this to only switch off the display, but do nothing else?
Thanks everybody!
Hi, there is a dootriper who asks how many laptops could he be allowed to carry to Chile and Colombia. He is going to Chile first and then to Colombia. Does anybody have any experience on these countries? Thanks
