Is there a way to perform advanced search on the profiles? https://www.labdoo.org/search/node
So users are able to search for other Labdooers with certain set of skills, interests, or geographical location.

We have a way to search for content, users and locations, but we only had the content part enabled. I just enabled the user and location part, you can try it:
https://www.labdoo.org/search
Notice however that this does not allow you to search for user skills, etc. If you need something more elaborated please specify what's needed. Try to be as precise and clear as possible so that it gets implemented right, thanks.
PS: there are other features related to search posted by other users (e.g., https://www.labdoo.org/content/labdoo-id-entry) so there is some work to do before we can complete all of this.
Can you show me how to search
Can you show me how to search Users by their location? It doesn't seem to work for me. Also, some user doesn't have a "Name" showing on the profiles. I thought name is a mandatory input when creating an account? Thanks!
You can search users by
You can search users by location by going to "Explore" -> "Labdooers":

One more comment. You will
One more comment. You will see that some users don't show up in the map. That's because these users did not specify their city and country. In 2.0, city and country is mandatory (and no more than that, just city and country), but some older users that were migrated from 1.0 didn't have their location. These users need to manually set up their city and country to show up in the map.
However, any new users starting from 2.0 will be located in the map, so if you are looking for new users in your area, they should show up.

Sorry, it doesn't work for me. When I typed in Irvine, USA, nothing showed up. Am I suppose to see at least myself?

:) Sorry, I was expecting to see a list like all other search results. Is it doable? Also, is it possible to do the keyword search like other search. I am ok if you block sensitive information out, but at least the result will be more meaningful.
I believe we should be able to do search on everything posted on the public profile (things listed by clicking the username) I hope this make sense to you? Thanks.

Hi Jordi,
Hi Jordi,
When you are less busy, can you fix some of the Labdooer search problems? Shall I use TeamWall
1. There's no option to go to the second page or after
2. Why many Labdooers I know in Orange County are not in the list (I know austinliang is definitely within 100 km of Irvine range, why don't I see him on the list?)
Thanks,
Wendy
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the feedback.
- I added a pager, please check: https://www.labdoo.org/labdooers
- The reason you don't see austinliang is because this user did not set the city and country fields in the user profile. Please ask the user to add that information in the profile, then you will see it showing up in the map.
- Since we enabled a pager to go through all the users, now we can only see 50 users at a time in the map. You cannot have it both ways (either we display all users and show no pager, or show a pager and display a subset of the users according to the pager). I think this is ok, and it makes it more user friendly.
- I added a "Help about this dashboard" link which points to a placeholder wiki entry: https://www.labdoo.org/content/labdooers-dashboard . When you have some time, could you fill in this wiki entry with an English description of how the dashboard works? thanks.
Let me know if any other thing is needed.

Thanks. It works now!

I thought it's a required field? (with a star next to the field)

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean about labdooers dashboard?
> I thought it's a required
> I thought it's a required field? (with a star next to the field)
It is, but at some point in the past during 1.0 it was not. All new users created after 2.0 have this field set because it is now mandatory, but some older users may not have it set because they come from an older 1.0 version. For these older users, they will need to update their profile and set their city and country in order to show up in the map.

If you go to the dashboard (https://www.labdoo.org/labdooers), you will see there is a link "Help about this dashboard" that points to this wiki page: https://www.labdoo.org/content/labdooers-dashboard. This wiki page needs to be filled in with a description of how the Labdooers dashboard (https://www.labdoo.org/labdooers) works. It can be very short, like one paragraph, up to you. Because you are the user, i think it is most appropritate that you can help write this short wiki page (from a user perspective). When you have some time, could you do so and fill in one or two paragraphs in this wiki page? thanks.
