Wikipedia for schools is now available in 4 languages (English (Release 2008 and 2013), French, Spanish and Portuguese). More information, how to download and install these wikis is explained here https://www.labdoo.org/content/installing-wikipedia-schools-wikidoo.
We packed the wiki content into a tar-gz file on our FTP server http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/wiki-archive/. You have to navigate t the language folder you need and download, unpack and view wikipedia for schools in a browser.
PS:
Labdoo calls wikipedia for schools "wikidoo", the rest of the world call it "wikipedia for schools" (in case you want to get more information from the web).

Ralf, just one comment, i think we should call it "wikipedia for schools" the same as the rest of the world since both are the same. Wikidoo was a term we used early on at Labdoo when we put together a simple method to download a basic version of wikipedia, but using the same name than the rest of the community is a good thing. Thanks for putting this together, it looks great.

Agree :D It is an old discussion within Labdoo. Talked a lot to marketing experts last months. They argued that if you are Google, Facebook, Intel or Microsoft etc. you are able to create and spread expressions created by them. But that costs a lot of time, resources and money, so only large enterprises and organisations should think about that. But Labdoo is a small NGO and we are proud to use resources as efficient as possible. The experts seriously recommended to use German words from our every day language (dootronis = IT-Spende, dootrip = Flugpate, wikidoo = Wikipedia for schools / Wikipedia für Schulen etc). Maybe one day Labdoo will think about dropping the especially created, artificial words. I will use those expressions in English as long as the international Labdoo team wants it. In German text I will switch as often and as soon as possible to regular German expressions. This is not a new discussion, we talked often about it. So let me know, if wording will change one day ;)
