Project description:

NEW CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUTH

New Chapter Development for Youth (NCDY) is an NGO established in 2004 at grass root level from the initiatives of the people at the grass-root level, after discovering that there are a lot of problems contributing to the marginalization of vulnerable groups such as children, youth, women, and people with disabilities. These groups require special attention and the means to facilitate procedures to solve any problems arising. The Registration N0 of the organization is; 00NGO/00002871, and since 2009 it serves at a national level. NCDY is determined to help all people regardless of their gender, marital status, disability, race, colour, religion, political belief and employment status.NCDY aims to help a wide variety of people who have been personally marginalized and will consider all types of differences.

NCDY is dedicated to helping vulnerable children, youth, women and people with disabilities by giving them the means to live a better life; this will be achieved by establishing different programs and activities which inspire action over the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.

NCDY is committed to working with a different range of stakeholders to foster teamwork, to achieve a sustainable future.
Vision:
To guarantee sustainable ways to help children, youth, women, and people with disabilities achieve reasonable social-economic status, we aim to target these groups as they make up the marginalized portion of society. We also aim to act with extra sensitivity to gender.

Mission:
To empower vulnerable and marginalized children, youth, women, and people with disabilities; ensuring that there is environmental protection of these susceptible population groups. We aim to help these groups utilize and improve on their physical, intellectual, socio-economic and health potentialities to contribute to improving their overall living standards.

Goal:
The organization is geared for children, youth, women, and people with disabilities, to sustain development through self-initiatives in their desired projects. Taking into consideration violence by strengthening the human rights prospectus within their communities and local authorities at large.

Objectives:
▪ To empower children, youth, women, and people with disabilities by getting to know the problems concerning them and subsequently helping them solve these challenges.
▪ To keep working with children, youth, women, and people with disabilities, until they have the confidence to solve these problems independently.

▪ To ensure that children, youth, women, and people with disabilities, learn to take advantage of the opportunities that arise in Tanzania. This will be achieved through participatory and integrated approaches.

To ensure gender equity and equality is observed in all aspects of social-economic opportunities.

▪ To empower children, youth, women, and people with disabilities, helping them recognize their entire needs and demand their rights as human beings.

At our centre, we have different programs to help vulnerable children. youth women and people with disabilities as follows

PROGRAMMES.

PROGRAM 1.

Children's Development Program.

Through this program, NCDY works with families, communities, and professionals to understand the needs of children and young people who are experiencing development problems.
The activities of this program include:

1. Child Protection
2. Street Children (reintegration)
3. Direct support to vulnerable children
PROGRAM 2.

Youth’s Development Program.

In this program, we prepare young people to successfully face the challenges of adolescence and adulthood and therefore achieve his or her full potential. Youth development is promoted through the following activities and experiences, all of which help youth develop social, ethical, emotional, physical and cognitive competencies:

• Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship skills.
• Mentoring, peer counselling, social recreation, and service-learning.
• Volunteering, extracurricular activities, and life skills activities.
• Games, sports, arts, and music in and out of school.
• Sexual and Reproductive Health including Menstrual Health Management (MHM) and hygiene (sanitary ware).

PROGRAM 3.
Women’s empowerment.
NCDY believes that women empowerment is the only way that women can determine and recreate what it is that they can be, to accomplish their full potential in circumstances where this was previously denied. Consequently, NCDY came up with this program to give women the ability to enjoy their right to use and benefit from the resources, assets, income and their own time, as well as the ability to manage risk and improve their socio-economic status and well-being. We also implement the 2030 Agenda of sustainable development's 5th goal, which is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
The major objectives of this program (WEP) include fostering an environment that empowers women to take up strategic positions in society and become decision- making bodies, as well as empowering them to become advocates for human rights, development issues, and gender-based issues within their communities.

NCDY complete this program through the following activities.
• Entrepreneurship skills
• Gender-based violence (Ending)
• Education
