1. Project Tittle or Name of your organization. St. Jude Bukoto Vocational Secondary School.
Project title: Contribution towards enabling the school students of St. Jude Bukoto Vocational Secondary School have Accessibility to 50 LAPTOPS to offer all round Computer skills and knowledge to poor children, needy children, orphans and other vulnerable children from the school and the community in general.
2. Project Description. The school has a total number of 500(303 girls) but it is rather unfortunate situation that the school has only 2 (two) old computers/desktops which cannot accommodate the overwhelming numbers of students at school.
Also, parents cannot afford to provide basic needs and computers to their children to facilitate a better learning environment at school.
The situation at school is worse in that, most learners cannot access the two computers freely and the situation does not allow sharing.
Due inadequate computers, only a few trainees can access practical sessions that is why we want to improve study environment by availability of more 30 computers/ LAPTOPS for service delivery and this will provide for concentration and sharing.
These districts of Uganda i.e. Rakai, Masaka, Lyantonde, Masaka City, and Kalangala are among areas where the first cases of HIV/AIDs scourge were diagnosed in 1980s creating a lot of human right concerns in the community since the infection rate is still at 5%and 6%12% compared to the national one which is 12% yet its effects cannot quickly be addressed essentially due to the limited resources, cultural beliefs and practice, complacence and low household income and many parents are living in abject poverty.
