Project description:

Berhan Learning Center is a private shool, which was created by current and former citizens of the small, rather rural town (around 20'000 inhabitants). Those people who are better off than many of the other inhabitants, would like to improve the conditions in their home town.
Berhan Learning Center has following mission: “we are envisioned to create center for technology, innovation and creativity. One pillar for enabling other technologies we believe that ICT is the most important one. For this purpose it is vital to establish ICT center in the school environment to create global learning opportunities for school and surrounding community.»
The current plan is to create both library and information center with WLAN broadband internet connection to enable our teachers and students to bring ICT literacy into their lives. The library will have internal and external cabled and wifi network connection to provide internet with controlled password.
The school will subscribe to e-libraries so that students of BLC and students from other schools will have access to concurrent updated e-books.
The center will provide trainings on ICT for internal and external community members
The library will have also hard copy books for reading under terms and conditions specified. Fortunately the center is fully furnished with trees which can give private reading spaces in the shadow, either for paper books or e-books.

The laptops will be used for ICT training, reading e-books, accessing internet, and other communication purposes for the community. We appreciate if education material could be pre-installed to the laptops or if you have lists of useful educational material that we can downloaded uploaded or come with memories so that we can upload.
