We have noticed a problem in the city of Serekunda. 30% of children live in the streets. Our goal is to cover these orphans who roam the streets, setting up a school / orphanage to provide maternal care services and training for children (primary education) and a place to live (food, rest and hygiene ).
We say school / orphanage perque in this center will be a school for children / as they only go to study and an orphanage for children / as to Iran to study and stay to live because they have no parents.
The first idea came to a holiday in Gambia, we saw a 5 year old boy walked barefoot, hungry and no place to live. Curasinkanu have put us in the shoes of the orphans who are working every day to feed. We have stopped to think that we should not ignore this situation more and we want to fight against child labor.
Our main objectives are to build boarding to cover orphans who roam the streets, where they can learn and grow.
We played with the advantage of having the land by the government, which also undertake the maintenance of children and the salaries of teachers who teach. To achieve these objectives must be based on respect and teamwork.
This school / orphanage will be public and will split a two-storey building:
First, the main building where the classes will be taught to children / as. This building will have two classrooms and each class will have its corresponding toilet. In addition, a management office will also serve as a meeting room for teachers and educators.
Secondly, the second floor consist of a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and three bedrooms where there will be twenty beds in each room.
You will have an outdoor patio, which will be divided according to the age of the children / as. This court shall consist of one part sand, cement, gravel, arable land, garden ... which enables the child / a natural learning space. It moved activities take place, and for that you can find: steel structures for climbing and sliding; crawling and climbing ropes; inclined trunks; bins to encourage recycling and cleaning; a couple of drinking fountains, wheels hanging as swings; tunnels (cement and wheels); outdoor booth; ramps; bridge; various materials: plastic boxes and cans, buckets, shovels ...
At lunchtime, you have a diet that is balanced, we will work with children / as to create a series of correct eating habits, create a pleasant environment, establish a sequence of the most significant moments of food, acquiring skills achieve autonomy within the socially correct standards.
Children under 6 years, made a break, another aspect to be covered within the basic needs of children / as of this age is the time of rest, so will be offered the opportunity to rest or sleep during the time nap, to respect their peers in a relaxed atmosphere. To do a particular space it will be used, as comfortable as possible.
At school it will take place education for equality without discrimination on grounds of sex. This assumes an attitude by teachers aimed at overcoming behaviors that affect the traditional roles of men and women, and on the other, using a teaching methodology that provide children / as unconventional images of either sex.
The aim of our school / orphanage is to contribute to the steady and balanced development of all the possibilities of children / as, in terms of physical, cognitive and emotional-social training ... Students will have clear objectives that should get in As for content, skills and competencies to be assessed. Toggle individual and group activities to promote collaborative work and facilitate attention to diversity among equals. The teacher takes the role of mentor and guide through the process.
The situation of children's education in Serekunda, can be briefly defined as a vast majority of children under 16 years out of school. Schoolchildren are divided between a majority of private schools.
Once you make big and have to leave school, they will help them enroll in a high school.
We accept every help, because children are in a barracks and have very bad conditions for studying.
I hope you can help me to accomplish this mission.
Many thanks
