Buddha Academy was established in 2000 to provide basic education to the local children those who were not able to walk an hour distance from their home. Previous to establishment of this school, children from Tumbuk and Taktor village had to go to Junbesi School which was very hard and not possible for the small children. The Lawren Nepal, the French and German organisation, jointly initiated to establish this school and continuously supporting school teacher salary, stationeries and scholarship for children. Later the local government provided three teacher’s salary support to run the academy. Currently, the school has 45 students from grade nursery to grade III with five teachers. Since the school is located in remote area, the children do not have access to computer based education. The concept of this project is to provide teaching and learning facility to the children through laptops so that they can learn with fun and also generates children's interest in learning process. The laptops will be used in teaching by teachers and also by students at the school for general knowledge, mathematics, science, English and entertainment.
