New: Only one GENERIC_BASIC image for all needs necessary!
Are you wondering where all the BASIC images and folders have gone? Then please read this information:
End of 2024 Labdoo dropped all language specific images: CAT_BASIC, DE_BASIC, EN_BASIC, ES_BASIC, FR_BASIC and UK_BASIC.
There is a new and only GENERIC_BASIC image now, which comes with these pre-installed languages and keyboards:
Languages: CAT, DE, EN, ES, FR, UK (default language is EN English)
keyboard layouts: cat, de, es, fr, gb, uk, us (default keyboard is DE German)
If you need an additional language or keyboard layout you will find after installation and reboot on each desktop tools to modify language and keyboard.
With a few clicks more you will be able to adapt a laptop to local needs.
The data transfer volume and download time for the only image is now reduced to a minimum (ca. 14 GB).
And feel free to generate and use modified and localized images for cloning. But once you start such a local image you will become responsible for maintaining your image :)

Ende 2024 hat Labdoo alle sprachspezifischen Images eingestellt: CAT_BASIC, DE_BASIC, EN_BASIC, ES_BASIC, FR_BASIC und UK_BASIC.
Es gibt jetzt nur noch einziges GENERIC_BASIC-Image, das diese vorinstallierten Sprachen und Tastaturen enthält:

Tastaturlayouts: cat, de, es, fr, gb, uk, us (Standardtastatur ist DE Deutsch)
Wenn Ihr eine zusätzliche Sprache oder Tastaturbelegung benötigt, findet ihr nach der Installation und dem Neustart auf jedem Desktop Tools zum Ändern von Sprache und Tastatur.
Mit ein paar Klicks mehr könnt ihr einen Laptop an lokale Anforderungen anpassen.
Das Datentransfervolumen und die Downloadzeit für das einzige Image ist nun auf ein Minimum reduziert (ca. 14 GB).
Ihr könnt auch angepasste oder regionale Images for cloning selber erstellen. Aber damit übernehmt ihr auch die Verantwortung für deren Wartung :)

So, if I create a new install disk in the next few days, the system will download only this new BASIC IMAGE?
Yes, it depends on the way
Yes, it depends on the way you are downloading and updating the install-disk. If you are using the script install-disk-maker.sh it works well (tested). If you stored the list of files and folders, what files and folders you want the script install-disk-maker.sh to download you might need to adapt such list of files and folders as some are new and others not available anymore.
And int he folder http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/GENERIC_images/ you will find the images in addition as archive (.tar.gz), to be unpacked after download.
As the image data became much smaller due to the BASIC approach it is planned to upload an actual patched image ca. once a month. So please check from time to time for a new image uploaded.
