Kyusa is a nonprofit in Kampala, Uganda that empowers out of school youth in urban slums to turn their passions into sustainable careers. The organization addresses the lack of the economic opportunity for school dropouts through an innovati i bonave, holistic program. The program uses free online courses, mentoring, skills development and entrepreneurship training. Kyusa turns participants’ mindset of hopelessness into determination and confidence. Kyusa is a registered NGO in Uganda and has been in operation since May 2014.
The laptops will be used to set up the ICT unit of the program which equips youth with computer application skills and offers them access to free online courses. Although ICT and online learning are core components of the Kyusa program, they have been on hold for a while due to lack of sufficient up to date computers that participants can use.
