Hi.
While installing Rachel I noticed the package includes certain .bat files that would execute some .exe files.
If I am not mistaken, those .exe files would start a kind of PHP server (uwamp) included in Rachel so that Wikipedia can be used with search funtionalities.
Again, if I am not wrong, those .bat and .exe will not work on a Linux Ubuntu computer and therefore Labdoo laptop users will have to use Rachel without the Search capabilities in Wikipedia.
Is there a way we can easily include support for a small, easy to install and easy to use PHP server in Lubuntu / Edubuntu?
EDIT: Maybe creating Labdoo's own RACHEL package that included some shellscripts that do a similar work than the .bat files. Also, eliminate from the package all the Windows-related software.

Hi,
Hi,
Labdoo is only using RACHEL by brwoser access, not as a server installation. There are several reasons, why Labdoo removed the components needed for PHP etc. (not competly, but most) - less storage needed, our project are based on single laptops, network knowledge is poor at our projects etc.
But if you are looking for the complete RACHEL why not download it from the RACHEL project site?

RACHEL can be installed at multiple platform and OS. But we only use it, Labdoo does not maintain or develop RACHEL. In case of further questions please contact the RACHEL team.
Converning PHP in Ubuntu - as we only deliver stand alone laptops PHP server are not included in our images. But every helper is free to add what he needs. There is a good guideline in German here https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/PHP/. For other languages please ask the web.
Hope I could answer your questions.
