Please note that CUPS (Common Uńix Printing System) is not coming with a basic (L)Ubuntu installation. It was part of a basic (L)Ubuntu 14.04 LTS system. Without CUPS you are not able to connect and install a printer :( We are adding CUPS this week to all Labdoo images for cloning (uploading to FTP server will take a while).
